All students enrolled in JROTC are part of the JROTC club and this club supports participation in community service, drill, color guard, rocketry and physical fitness
We are both a social and academic club that works on individual and group: large and small art projects, helps with art displays, participates in local contests and art events; and assists with school and community art events. The purpose of Art Club is to expand on the art experiences of those students who are currently in art classes and give access to art materials and opportunities to those students who cannot take art classes due to not having access or time in their schedules. Art Club is a space where students can get additional help, guidance and training in their art skills. It can be a safe place for students to explore their own identity and culture. It is an important goal of Art Club to celebrate Visual Arts and improve overall art and culture in and around the BLHS community. We also help with a lot of ASB and Leadership projects and collaborate with the City of Bonney Lake Arts Commission. We support creating back drops and art for the BLHS Plays.
The purpose of choir club is to promote choir and use singing as an outreach to the community and beyond. We are able to participate in more competitions that require travel through our choir club than the class. We also like to hold fundraisers that promote singing in a group to elementary students, as well as hold talent shows for all BLHS students, for example.
The purpose of Drama Club is to help students develop friendship and community within BLHS. To be a learning laboratory where students develop theatre skills in improvisation, characterization, and interpersonal connections. During the fall and spring we rehearse and produce a full-length drama or musical production. During Halloween students in the club organize, rehearse, and present a haunted house as one of our major fundraisers. Bi-yearly students attend the Washington State Thespian Festival.
The purpose for Culinary Club is to allow real industry experiences applying cooking skills and food preparation, food product and menu development and nurturing the community.
Meetings: 3rd Tuesday of each month, 2:30pm in the Culinary Room.
Competition Team will meet on the other Tuesdays each month.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national nonprofit student organization that helps youth develop leadership and workplace skills to prepare for both college and careers through peer-to-peer education, community engagement, and the application of skills learned in the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) classroom. The work of FCCLA helps students and teachers focus on a variety of youth concerns, including parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, sustainability, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career preparation in four specific Career Pathways. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace.
