Culinary students from Bonney Lake High School and Sumner High School attended the “Bite of Apprentice” event at the Bell Harbor Convention Center in Seattle on Monday, where they showed their expertise in cooking and competed alongside other high schools, colleges, restaurants and more.
The event, hosted by the Washington State Chefs Association, gave our students the chance to get their food tasted and judged.
BLHS Culinary took home first place in the high school category and third place overall, just behind Bates Technical College at second place and RedWind Casino in first place.
Students were able to gain industry experience and build connections with colleges and restaurants in the area. A big thank you to SHS advisor Janine Sather and BLHS advisor Kahale Ahina for providing this experience for our students!
