Principal Anthony Clarke

I am extremely excited and blessed to be serving our Bonney Lake community as the Principal of Bonney Lake High School. The overwhelming welcome back and genuine excitement I have received from students, our staff members, and this community has been truly humbling and one of the most special moments of my professional career. Bonney Lake is a special place for my family and I. I am fortunate to come back to the Panther family.

Some of you may already know me. However, for those who do not, I would like to introduce my family and I: I am lucky enough to have an amazing wife, Sarah, and daughter, Faith. Sarah and I are celebrating our eighteenth anniversary this August! Faith is an alumni of BLHS and is currently a student at the University of Oregon. She enjoys theatre, and you may have seen her in shows at BLHS and with Manestage Theatre. Both my wife and daughter are far more talented than I, especially when it comes to the arts. Sarah and I moved to Washington State to open Bonney Lake High School sixteen years ago. I served BLHS as a Social Science Teacher and Head Wrestling Coach for the first nine years. I then became an Assistant Principal at BLHS for the next seven years. I left BLHS last year to become the Principal at Enumclaw Middle School. I learned so much in that role and the community was amazing. However, the opportunity to come back to BLHS to be the Principal of our school was too great to pass up. To put it plainly, it is my dream job. Our city has become our home and we are so happy to continue to serve this community in which we live.

Education changed my life. Due to my personal experience overcoming a learning disability, I have a special empathy for all students, especially for students who are traditionally underserved. I tirelessly work to make sure others have access to the same opportunities of which I was able to take advantage. At BLHS we work as a team to ensure ALL students succeed. Ultimately, we want every single student who walks our halls to love their experience, rise to challenges, and grow into young adults who are ready to graduate and to thrive in their next levels of training, schooling, or service. We want the same thing for every one of our students that we would want for our own children, which is to have a successful, happy, and fulfilling life beyond school. The amazing staff members at Bonney Lake High School and I work to foster an atmosphere where students feel safe, cared for, and supported. That work starts with every interaction we have, each day, with every student, staff member, or community member. I want every Panther to know that they belong at BLHS. I am proud to be the next Principal of Bonney Lake High School. I do not take the honor of serving the Bonney Lake community and your children lightly. I look forward to meeting each of you in the near future. Go Panthers!

Crystal Emerson, Assistant Principal

This school year will be my 17th year in education but my second year at BLHS.  I have lived in the Bonney Lake Community for 11 years with my family and have a 1st grader who attends in this district.  We love Bonney Lake and are proud to be involved in the SBLSD.

I am excited to be the 9th grade administrator this year and work with our amazing Freshman class.  Prior to becoming a panther I was a middle school assistant principal in the Federal Way School District.  Before transitioning into administration, I taught math, science and social studies at the middle school level.  I also was involved in coaching gymnastics and co-led a Saturday math program for young men.  This past year at BLHS, I have had the pleasure to support ASB student leadership and partner with them to put on some amazing school events and opportunities for Panthers.  I love being a BLHS Panther and look forward to continuing to partner with families and students.

Aaron Radford, Athletic Coordinator/Dean of Students

The 2024-25 school year marks my 8th year at Bonney Lake High School. I graduated from Sumner High in 1993 and spent my college days at Western Washington University. Prior to joining the Bonney Lake Panther team, I served the Kent School District for 18 years.

Early in my career, I was a Dean of Students and math teacher at the middle school level. I then spent 14 years at Kentwood High, where I continued to teach math and was the Head Girls and Boys Soccer Coach. In my 25 seasons as a head coach, I’ve come to appreciate the hard work and dedication coaches and students have while participating in athletics and activities, as well as in the classroom. My goal for the Bonney Lake High School Athletic Department is to focus on developing athletes with character and providing student athletes with opportunities to grow and learn about themselves through their participation in sports. I am married and have 2 girls. My wife, Tara, has supported all my endeavors and you can expect to see her at many Panther events.
